This is an introductory course in basic weight training knowledge and techniques. Students will train on various weight training machines and use free weights to enhance levels of strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance. In addition, students will be instructed on proper technique and safety. All students will be tested in areas of strength, cardiovascular endurance, rep testing and Presidential Fitness Test. Students will ultimately understand why strength training and conditioning are key components in physical fitness, related to living a healthy lifestyle.
